I bought my computer used and I am going to upgrade from windows 98 to XP. I have the RAM necessary, but I don't want to lose office because I bought it used and don't have the discs. How can I burn it onto a CD so that if I do lose it, I can reinstall it? I have a burner.

you can upgrade your windows 98 to windows xp without uninstalling the office.
all your files will remain in their places.
you just upgrade.

First of all why use MS Office since you can get Open Office which is like 100 times better plus it's free. Check out http://openoffice.org
Now to save Microsoft Office the only way I know of is to either Ghost your drive with software like Disk Clone or Norton Ghost. Another way is to download a key gen MS Office and download the ISO images of the program and burn them to a CD.
I'm sorry about your trouble but next time don't be fooled by MS Office when there is free open source software like Open Office.
As mentioned above your files should be save when you use the upgrade option instead of fully installing XP.
Not possible. Your best bet is to write down your serial key and borrow a copy of office from a friend.
You still need the product key. If you don't have the discs, you still need the product key in order to finish the installation.
You could always download Office 2003 OEM version on the cheap.
