How do I transfer Microsoft Office 2000 from old laptop to new?

I just bought a new laptop to replace old. I used an upgrade on the old computer, so I can't just put the software on the new computer. I want to transfer from one to the other, but have little skills beyond word processing and surfing the web. Easiest way please.

you need the original cd that put the software on the old pc BEFORE you upgraded it. you have to install the old version on the new pc then upgrade the new pc with the upgrade cd.

if you dont have the original cd, ask around. i'm sure your friends have a copy hanging around. if you dont get your hands on a full copy, you'd have to BUY a new one (kinda expensive) and who wants to do that? the upgrade cd needs the old version installed BEFORE the upgrade can take place. good luck

What you are asking to do may violate the terms of your Microsoft License agreement, and may not be a very good alternative in any event. That said, here's how you go about the legal ways of doing it:

If you are concerned about your documents and files, XP and Vista have the ''File and Settings Transfer Wizard'' (Under AllPrograms-%26gt;Accessories-%26gt;System Tools). If both computers are on the same network, you can transfer the data over the network, if not, then you can burn to DVD, CD, or use an external drive to copy the data. Then you run FSTW on the new computer, and wallah! There are your files and settings.
