Whats the difference between Microsoft office and Microsoft works?

Office Includes programs like Word %26 Excel, while Works has simple applications for word processing and some limited spreashseet work, but the files are not exactly compatible. Get Office if you can, it's worth the extra money, and it pretty much the standard for business work.

Cheers!

Aside from price, Works is a light-weight desktop tool designed primarily for use by home users.

M$-Office is a high-end productivity suite for Business.
Microsoft works is a more generic set of programs... They aren't as user friendly as office but they tend to work just as well once you learn to use them.
Office has more useful programs other than Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, it has Publisher where u can create ur own posters and other stuff... there's also OneNote, Access, and FrontPage, you maybe don't use all of these programs, but even if you just use word or excel only... there's a BIG deference between word in office and in works. especially the Office 2007, it's all new!!
office has many more features.
