Can I turn a Microsoft Office Document Imaging File into a JPG file?

My Great Aunt and Uncle sent me a cd with pictures on it, but all of the pictures are in that microsoft Office Imaging File. There are acouple of things I want to do to help tweak the photos a bit, but I cannot because it won't open in the correct editing program without being a JPG. Does anyone know if I can save it in a different format? When I go to ''save as'' the only other file type is ''tagged imaging file format.'' Any help would be appreciated. I'm working on a gift for my grandparent's 50th anniversary inthe middle of the month! Thanks!

What is document imaging?

Document imaging is the process of scanning paper documents, converting them to digital images that are then stored on CD, DVD, or other magnetic storage. With Microsoft Office Document Imaging, you can scan paper documents and convert them to digital images that you can save in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) (Tagged Image File Format (TIFF): A high-resolution, tag-based graphics format. TIFF is used for the universal interchange of digital graphics.) or Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI) (Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI): A high resolution, tag-based graphics format, based on the Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) used for digital graphics.) to your computer鈥檚 hard disk, network server, CD, or DVD. Microsoft Office Document Imaging also gives you the ability to perform optical character recognition (OCR) (OCR: Translates images of text, such as scanned documents, into actual text characters. Also known as text recognition.) either as part of scanning a document, or while you work with a TIFF or MDI file. By performing OCR, you can then copy recognized text from a scanned image or a fax into a Microsoft Word document or other Office progam file.

Since all the files are in Tiff format you need to save it into jpg file to do editing of the photos. The best and free software to convert the file is IrfanView. You can download the file from this location http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_e...
