Will my previous word files get deleted with the installation of a new Microsoft Office word?

I have files saved with the older word. Will they get deleted with the installation of a newer version of word?

Installing a new version of Word will not delete your previously saved documents, if those are the word files you're referring to.

The files containing the actual Word application may be deleted and replaced by new application files depending on how the application is installed.

No, they won't.

Files saved in an older Word format need to be ''Re-Associated'' to the new version of Word.

Right-click on any one of your old Word documents and choose open with... and then, select your new version of Word. Then, Check the ''Always open with...'' checkbox and OK.

Now, your new Word will see them, when you go to the right file folder.
your files are saved separately from the executable files. they will not be deleted. but you might have to worry about compatibility if the old version was very old.
