Thanks for the vote. I probably use OOo more than MSoffice. For files that don't need to be shared I keep them in open document format which are many times smaller than .doc and xls. Report It


Sorry to have to tell you this but if you lost the key, you are hosed.

You will have to purchase another key from Microsoft which they will be more than happy to sell you at full price over the phone by way of India.

Ether that or Microsoft will refer you to the PC manufacturer to get a new key and the PC manufacturer will send you back to Microsoft.
If you bought the computer retail, it SHOULD be included in the paperwork that came with the computer. If not, during the activation process, you'll have an option to activate over the phone. Do it that way.

Maybe try contacting your computer manufacturer and see if they can help you, but you may be S.O.L. unless you can find someone else to let you borrow their CD %26 key.
Did the full version come with the system, or only a trial version? Very few systems ship with Office pre-installed these days since it adds several hundred dollars to the price of the system. If it was supposed to be the full version you might try contacting your hardware vendor first. If that fails then try contacting Microsoft. If you have paperwork showing that you purchased the full version of Office with your computer then they may be able to help you.
