Can you make a number line on Microsoft Office Excel?aurora
Yes.
In column a2 (? = number of points you need on the line) enter the first number of your number line(-10). In cell a3 enter the next number (-9). Highlight both cells and drag it down to as far as you need the number line to go. In cell b2:b? (? = end of your data) enter the number 1. In a1 ente an x and in b1 enter a y. Highlight this array of cells. Click on chart or go to Insert%26gt;Chart. Choose and XY Scatter chart of the type you like. Click on the preview button to see if you like the formatting. Click Finish. Format the chart as you see fit. Number Line!!

Hey that's a good question.
I use Excel a fair bit over the years but no it won't do a number line.
You can make a graph with the x axis printed out and a short y axis of 1 unit or less, and then maybe put blocks of color/ and a text box on top of the x axis to make it 'look' like a number line. Then put little arrows in a text box on the ends.
But if you're in school, it may be easier to just use graph paper for number lines at this point because modifying excel to make it look right will take longer. If you're at work, the boss gives you all night to work on it too...at home.
.....A number line, invented by John Wallis, is a one-dimensional picture in which the integers are shown as specially-marked points evenly spaced on a line. Although this image only shows the integers from -9 to 9, the line includes all real numbers, continuing ''forever'' in each direction. It is often used as an aid in teaching simple addition or subtraction, especially involving negative numbers
