There is no such thing as free Microsoft Office unless it is a pirate copy. Get yourself a copy of Open Office, it is free for personal use and is compatible with Microsft products.

You don't want the free stuff, because that would be pirated software and windows updates catches that type of stuff. So you are going to have to pay for it.

You may want to give openoffice a try. It's free, open source, and multilingual. It's an alternative to the expensive Microsoft Office suite and also compatible.

Microsoft Office is not free, if you a student you could pick up a cheaper student edition from your campus bookstore. But I would recommend trying Open Office. It's just like Microsoft but free, it's also compatible with Microsoft.
